Staying Positive about Digimon

An article that I wrote about the fandom of Digimon and how and why it should stay positive.

Author: Susanna

In the Digimon Fandom, even though there are so many different opinions, I believe that negativity is one of the worst and would really affect people.

I really don't believe it's neccessary. That means, when sharing opinions on forums, shows, tagboards or anything else, keep your message focused on the positives.

The reasons:

Hate and dislikes just causes a lot of stress, anger and depression for people. It's the reason for sadness and what has hate done for us in the world? Nothing but pain, wars, fighting and hatred against each other. If the values of Digimon is fighting the evil and hate in the world, then we should follow by their example.

Focusing on the positives of Digimon gives people a chance to know others who have the same interest. There is a chance to make some new friends that you could share some great thoughts to your favourite characters.

If we are all fans of Digimon, why must we focus on the negative about of them? If people cannot express it in an assertive way, perhaps about what they would like to have seen, and instead they just complain bitterly, what is the point?

Talking about what we like brings a good feeling. It's a reminder of what got us into this show in the first place.

If you really disliked something, it's useless to keep talking about it. It's not going to change anything, rather than make yourself unhappy because as you constantly talk about what annoyed you, you will get annoyed even more.

Humans created this series. If you were the creators, you would likely to make mistakes too. Just because one thing isn't what you wanted, it isn't fair to judge or frame them. They are all people, and nothing's ever going to be perfect. If you want your own perfect show, the only person who can create it is you.

For some who judge it before watching it is simply closed minded. How can anyone say something is bad if they have not seen all of it?

Talking about what we love gives us a warm feeling, just like it does when someone says something nice to us.

The unfair comments made for specific voice or way it's made, or the dub is simply unnecessary. Why do some people must share with the world why annoyed them so much? Is it really going to make them feel so much better? Why carry the bad stuff when you have all these good stuff to think about?

Everybody in the world who loves Digimon will have different ideas on their favourite characters. It isn't fair for them to hear a bad comment about a character they particularly liked. People have feelings, and the first thing about feelings is to be sad when others insult or talk badly about what's important to them.

One of the special things about Digimon is that they bring in something new in each season. It's a real eye opener, something new for people to enjoy. Embrace it! Why complain about the changes whereas if you really accepted it, you may find yourself loving it a lot?

If you don't want something said to you, don't do it to others. For example, if you don't want people to say your favourite season was terrible, don't say that about a season you don't like. There are people who would like it! This is called ?considering about other's and not just yourselves.?

Please remember. 'If you're not going to say anything nice, don't say anything at all'.
