Digimon Tamers

The third season, with a very exciting new story and digidestined, with a new threat against the world.

Guilmon

Guilmon is a virus-type Digimon, though his attitude most of the time could lead to thinking that he was a data or even a vaccine-type. His body is adorned with various signs of the net-hazard symbol, as Guilmon is believed to be able to corrupt a large amount of data. His virus typing could possibly explain his first mega form, Megidramon. Guilmon's fighting style shows his virus nature, as he fights with much more zeal than Agumon or other digimon protagonists. Guilmon has a very keen sense of smell and possess somewhat of a sixth sense to detect other digimon if around (though the concept of this ability may apply to all digimon, as most in the series could sense the presence of other digimon, if they were around).

Guilmon is a curious and naive digimon, the youngest of the partner Digimon. He was created from Takato's imagination and brought to life by the Blue Card.[1] At first, Guilmon had not been aware of the differences between humans and Digimon, calling his partner Tamer "Takatomon."

Guilmon is normally depicted as playful and friendly, proving to be quite popular with Takato's classmates for being a real live Digimon. He would refer to Takato as "Takatomon" at the beginning of the series. Despite his childlike nature, Guilmon is shown to have wisdom. For example, when Takato didn't want Guilmon to digivolve, in fear that Guilmon would no longer be the same, Guilmon pointed out that Takato has changed over time as well, but he is still the same person.

Guilmon had one of the deepest relationships with his tamer out of the whole series, the two did many things together and conquered many hurdles. Guilmon is very loyal and protective of Takato and would do anything for him. When Guilmon digivolved to Megidramon, it was through their friendship that Takato managed to come back to his senses which allowed him to rescue Guilmon and bring him back, later allowing them to biomerge to Gallantmon to fight Beezlemon.

Guilmon gets along very well with Terriermon and Calumon. His first meeting with Renamon was as enemies, but Guilmon does later acknowledge Renamon's knowledge in combat situations. At first, Guilmon would either ignore or try to play with Impmon.

Unlike previous seasons, Guilmon is not the first Digimon to digivolve into Champion level even though he belongs to the lead character; Terriermon and Renamon digivolved before him. He does digivolve first in both Ultimate and Mega levels however. Guilmon has become one of the most popular and famous digimon of all time.

Terriermon

Terriermon started out as a wild Digimon, fighting by the rules of the "survival of the fittest" doctrine in the harsh realm of the Digital World.[1] When Henry received a Digimon video game as a present from his father, he selected Terriermon to play with because he identified with him (he said he wanted to be challenged by a small digimon). During a battle between Terriermon and Gorillamon, Henry caused Terriermon to Digivolve into Gargomon. However, Gargomon lost control of his powers and Terriermon was nearly unconscious when he De-Digivolved, causing Henry to regret causing Terriermon's digivolution. Soon after, the mysterious Blue Card was discovered among Henry's card collection. Henry swiped the card through his card reader, transforming it into a D-Power. Terriermon then Bio-Emerged into the Real World as Henry's partner. In 'Digimon The Movie' a bit of a different Terriermon is shown, being white (also show to be somewhat a very pale peach color) and the green places are a light mint-green, unlike in Digimon Tamers (season 3 of the Digimon anime series) where he is a somewhat dark yet light green that is somewhat 'dirty' look to it.Also the eyes are a bit different on both versions of Terriermon and the one in the movie has more of an anime look to it.

At first, Henry hid Terriermon from his family by making Terriermon act like a simple stuffed animal. Later, Terriermon met the other Tamers, and became fast friends with Guilmon (Takato's partner).

Terriermon has a laid back personality - and often uses the word "Momentai" (written as 無問題 or 无问题), a Cantonese phrase that means "no problem".

Terriermon was the first digimon to digivolve into champion level in Digimon Tamers.

Renamon

Renamon became Rika's partner after she received her D-Power (D- Arc in Japan) shortly after a Digimon Cards tournament. Many Digimon appeared to ask Rika to be their tamer, but at the end, Rika's choice was Renamon; "I just want one strong Digimon." Renamon remained as Rika's companion throughout the Tamers season. Renamon does not remember how she came to the real world from the Digiworld; she only remembers her partnership with Rika. Whenever Rika is alone, Renamon can appear to her.

At first, Renamon's view on humans was that they were just aides for Digimon in Digivolution, and her Tamer, Rika, thought that Digimon were just fighting machines. The two had a distant relationship. As time passed, their friendship grew stronger, having understood each other better, and the two saved each other on many occasions. It reached its zenith when, during the D-Reaper's attack, Rika told Renamon that she preferred fighting by Renamon's side over leaving the battle and saving herself. This enabled the final Bio-mergeance that sparked Sakuyamon's birth.

Calumon

Calumon's immature antics and over-expressed emotions leave little doubt about the fact that its role is not of a fighter. In Digimon Tamers, Calumon is the only Digimon on the protagonist's side who had no official tamer, although he does seem to have a special bond with Jeri as he was able to sense her presence when she was trapped inside of the Kernel Sphere. He then led Beelzemon in a rescue mission to save her, and helped her immensely when he finally snapped her out of her depression and protected her from the Chaos with a forcefield during the final battle. He may have become her new partner after the events of the D-Reaper Saga of Digimon Tamers. In the beginning of the series, Calumon thinks of the Real World as a game and the humans as other digimon. His ears, usually short, can be expanded, usually when Calumon is happy or excited, to the size shown in the picture to allow him to "fly". His forehead bears the symbol which is the polar opposite of the Digi-Hazard. Though that symbol is never formally named, it is safe to assume it can be called the Crystal Matrix. It is from the Crystal Matrix symbol that Calumon releases his power to catalyze Digivolution. In the Arabic dub, Calumon does not have the symbol on his forehead, possibly for religious reasons.

Guardromon

Separated from the others Rika's group encountered an Andromon who was trying to liberate a village of Gekomon from the control of Orochimon, who had enslaved them to mix sake for him (milkshakes in the English dub). Andromon was badly injured in the battle with the Tamers taking him to the Gekomon village, where they eventually managed to convince the Gekomon leader to give them some of the data packets from their drinks to heal Andromon. However, he had lost much of his energy from the fight and regressed into Guardromon as a result.

He helped the Tamers rescue Jeri Katou from Orochimon by conducting a plan of stowing away inside the drink barrels to get onto Orochimon’s island undetected. After Orochimon was destroyed, Guardromon became a Digimon partner to Kazu who helped out in the battles with Beelzemon and the D-Reaper.

Guardromon had an important role in Runaway Locomon by pushing a train car to catch up with Locomon. When Locomon Digivolved to GranLocomon, the Parasimon began invading and Guardromon destroyed a few of them with his Guardian Barrage.

Marineangemon

A MarineAngemon was among the Mega Level Digimon in Digimon Tamers that appeared to help the Sovereign fight the D-Reaper. Instead, MarineAngemon liked Kenta so much that he even became his partner. Though quite powerful, MarineAngemon was an unlikely ally during the battle against the D-Reaper as his love-based attacks frightened the Jeri-Type Agent, as the D-Reaper was powered only by Jeri's negative emotions. Also when the Digimon returned to the Digital World, MarineAngemon was the only Digimon who did not regress to his In-Training form, as he was already small enough to fit in the dimensional gate.

In the movie Runaway Locomon, Kenta and MarineAngemon were shopping for presents for Rika's birthday party when news about Locomon came on TV. During the battle against many Parasimon, MarineAngemon destroyed a few of them.

Lopmon

Lopmon is the Digimon partner of Suzie, Henry's little sister. However, Lopmon was also Antylamon of the Devas, and guardian of the South Gate to Zhuqiaomon's palace. When Suzie first meets Antylamon she is treated a small annoyance, but after spending some time together, they develop a special bond. When Antylamon's fellow deva, Makuramon, appears and tried to harm Suzie, Antylamon drives him away. As punishment, Zhuqiaomon reverts Antylamon to Lopmon for protecting a human, and Lopmon became a partner to Suzie.

When the Tamers confronted Zhuqiaomon, Lopmon pleaded with Zhuqiaomon not to kill them. Regardless, he unleashed a blast of flame on Lopmon although in the end it was saved by WarGrowlmon. Lopmon, like the other Tamer Digimon, went to the Real World. When the D-Reaper appeared, Lopmon regained the ability to digivolve to Antylamon to help out. Lopmon's only appearance during the final battle was when Kazu, Kenta, Guardromon, MarineAngemon and itself entered the D-Reaper to help. They arrived in one of MarineAngemon's bubbles just in time to rescue the recently de-digivolved Tamers and Digimon. Afterwards Lopmon was forced to return to the Digital World with the rest of the Tamers Digimon.

Lopmon returned in Runaway Locomon but as a more minor character. Lopmon appearance was limited to it being accidentally taken by Henry instead of Terriermon (they were later switched back) and in the end when Lopmon and Suzie were threatened by two Parasimon which were destroyed by Beelzemon before anything could happen to them. Lopmon later attended Rika's birthday party.

Impmon

At the beginning of Digimon Tamers, Impmon was a trouble making digimon who spent most of his time picking on humans, and later harassing the Tamers and their Digimon (Terriermon later briefly fights back and sends him flying). Impmon seemed to dislike humans, saying that no 'self-respecting Digimon' would ever ally themselves to one. It is revealed later in the series that Impmon is in fact the Digimon partner of two children - Ai and Mako. Impmon had run away from the two after they had continuously quarreled over him, and treated him as if he were a toy.

Impmon had resented the Tamers and their Digimon because they, unlike him, were able to Digivolve. He tried to prove himself by fighting Indramon (despite Renamon's warnings), but suffered a devastating and painful defeat. Being humilated, having his ego crushed, and feeling unhappy and hated, Impmon readily accepted the Deva Chatsuramon's offer. Chatsuramon offered Impmon the ability to digivolve, but in return, Impmon would have to kill the Tamers and their Digimon. He is very conflicted by this at first, remembering the kindness Guilmon would show Impmon despite his constant insults of him, but still accepts, desperate to digivolve.

Impmon is granted the power to become Beelzemon, a mega-level digimon who becomes the Sovereign Zhuqiaomon's personal assassin, and it is suggested that he is corrupted in the process. Beelzemon eventually meets up with the Tamers and kills Leomon, Jeri's Digimon partner. Takato's anger at this causes Wargrowlmon to Dark Digivolve into Megidramon, who at first seems to be defeating Beelzemon until Beelzemon loads the data of Makuramon, , Taomon and Rapidmon. Beelzemon defeats Megidramon and then trys to kill Takato after he runs over to Megidramon. However Takato is so upset at what Guilmon has become that Megidramon reverts to his Rookie stage and Takato says that he wants the two of them to fight Beelzemon together. This inspires Guilmon and Takato to bio-merge into Gallantmon, who fought an intense battle against Beelzemon, in which Beelzemon absorbed Chatsuramon's Data after Gallantmon defeated Chatsuramon. Gallantmon wins the battle, but spares Beelzemon on Jeri's request. Beelzemon is shocked that Jeri asked he be spared after he killed Leomon. Jeri told Beelzemon that she hated him for that, but knew killing him wouldn't bring Leomon back.

Beelzemon, in his weakened state, de-digivolves into Impmon again after being attacked by a group of Chrysalimon, whom he allows to attack him because he didn't want his power anymore. Luckily, he encounters Renamon and Rika, who decide to bring Impmon back into the Real World. After being not only spared but saved by the people he had once hated, Impmon begins to have a change of heart and decides to instead help the tamers. With their help, Impmon Digivolves once again and becomes Beelzemon Blast Mode

At the end of the series, after the D-Reaper's destruction, Impmon at last asks Jeri for forgiveness. She agrees, leaving Impmon finally at peace with the humans.

He also has a fascinating relationship with Renamon. At first he hated her, then hated and liked her, then despised her, then finally, at the end of the series, he seems to like her for good.

Impmon also seems to have a strange relationship with Calumon. At first, he seems to hate him, while Calumon thought they were friends. After he became Beelzemon, Calumon got the message that he hated him, that he had no friends. When he was Impmon again, he accepted Calumon's friendship, helping him escape the D reaper and headbutted him in the kernal sphere to get Jeri.
