Digimon Frontier is a unique series out of the Digimon series so far, as the chosen children do not have partner Digimon, they turn into Digimon themselves.
Frontier first began broadcasting in 2002 and started when Takuya found his life boring and wanted something new, he received a message to catch a train if he chose to, and of course, Takuya chooses to but barely makes it there. On the train, he discovered four other children abroad and going the same way.
There was Zoe, the only girl in the series, Tommy, a younger child that had been bullied and thrown on the train, JP and Koji, who took a similar train and was a lonewolf.
Soon, the train had taken them not to a destination in their world, but to the Digital World. The chosen children had no idea what was going on and wanted to go home. There, they meet Bokomon and Neemon, a pair of funny Digimon that had a lot of knowledge and wanted the humans to save their world.
In the past, Cherubimon, Ophanimon and Seraphimon ruled the Digital World peacefully, but gradually had disagreements and turned against each other. The DigiDestined must stop Cherubimon and his destructive evil in order to save the Digital World, however discovered that Cherubimon wasn't the least of the threat. The DigiDestined had to collect human and beast spirits in order to Spirit Evolve, with the latter being much harder to control.
Soon, a Digimon came to destroy the humans, but seemed to have some connection with Koji, it turned out that this mysterious Digimon's human form was Koji's long lost brother that had been swallowed in darkness.
However, the DigiDestined helped each other to learn that Darkness doesn't have to be evil, they helped Koichi become good again, and this time, needing to defeat the evil Lucemon that created the desctruction with the human and Digital World. Lucemon sends the two Royal Knights to fight the DigiDestined and collecting data to wipe the World, however with Koichi's sacrifice and the group Evolving together to become one, they were able to defeat Lucemon and return the world to normal, meanwhile growing and maturing themselves.
Digimon Frontier first aired from April 7, 2002 to March 30, 2003 on Fuji TV in Japan.
